STRESS

What is stress?
Stress is the body's reaction to a change that requires a physical, mental or emotional adjustment or response.
Stress can come from any situation or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, nervous, or anxious.

Type of Work
  • Work that is tedious or repetitive
  • Too much work burden and less time to relax
Responsibilities
  • There is no clear responsibility (task conflict)
  • Responsible for the work of others rather than their own work
Relation between colleague
  • Ineffective communication
  • Interruption of work (bullying) and sexual harassment
Uncomfortable Environment
  • Noisy, hot and crowded workplace
Management and Organization
  • A culture of blaming the workers
  • No support, lack of appreciation and there is no incentive
  • Lack of support to improve their career - difficult to get promoted
  • No involvement in decision making or policy

1) Modifying the source of stress:
  • Problem solving by discussion
  • Good job planning
  • A wise time management
  • Communicate more effectively
  • Modify the source of stress in organizations such as policies, procedures and time is not flexible

2) Avoid stress by:
  • Avoid excessive workload
  • Know their own limit
  • Refuse to do something beyond their own ability
  • To work in cooperation

3) Increase endurance with:
  • Adopt a healthy lifestyle (exercise, a balanced diet)
  • Relaxing the mind (do practices such as breathing exercises and progressive muscle relaxation)
  • Increase worship (practice forgiveness, blessings, prayers of remembrance)
  • Think positively
  • Able to accept criticism in a positive way

  • Less absenteeism due to stress-related disorders
  • Less worker's compensation loss due to stress-related illness or accidents
  • Improved job performance
  • Less stressful, more efficient workplace
