Noise Hazard

Noise is an unwanted sound.
Noise always happened at work area specially on construction area or manufacturing are using generator machine. When the decibel of noise is over the limit it disturb the human hearing.the extent of the noise induced hearing loss depends on the intensity of the noise, its duration and its duration and its frequency or pitch.

limit for noise
the level at which action must be taken to reduce the harmful effects to those who would be exposed to the noise. the first action level is set at 85dB averages over an 8 hour day. the second action level is set at 90dB. above this level, an employer must do all that is reasonbly practicable to reduce noise levels, using what ever control measures are available.

Noise measurement.
if dealing with noise, employer must be recognized the source of sound and make a measurement to noise. Noise can be measure with the instrument for assessing noise levels is a sound level meter (SLM) or noise dose meter (NDM). the meter is designed to measure a frequency- weighted and time weighted value of the sound pressure level.

health surveillance (hearing checks)
health surveillance is form of hearing checks should be carried out if there is a risk noise levels could damage hearing. this will warn of any employees who may be suffering from early symptoms of hearing loss. it also allows employers to check that noise control are adequate. the health surveillance must be conducted by competent person where employees are regularly exposed to noise levels above the action values.
