THE INVASION OF ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION AND ITS IMPACT TO ALL PARTIES

Electricity substation is important to convey the pulse of electricity in all areas, whether in city or rural areas. Without these substations, electrical energy unable extended and this will affect the lives of the people depend on electricity.

 What is the problem now is that a theft of cables and iron bars of the electrical substation that is common in some rural areas. Electrical cable theft activities carried out by unscrupulous may endanger the safety of all parties. If viewed from all aspects, electrical outages will result in loss and casualties to all parties, these items can be for example the effect of power failures.

       The road accident happened when the traffic lights goes off suddenly.

       Electric Railway stopped suddenly because no electrical power to move and cause passengers trapped inside the trains. Death can occur when the passengers began to panic and having breathing problems.

       Operating at some factories stopped because the machine that uses electricity cannot function and affect the operation of the factory. The factory will be losses for activities to be postponed.

       Companies that provide electric service had to incur extra costs to repair damaged electrical substation.

In 2008 the country was shocked by the incident substation tower that collapsed in Sabah which resulted in one death and four serious injuries. According to the report made, in the 10.30am incident, the five victims of the Life Line Unit (LLU) TNB is working on the ERS to replace the electrical transmission line towers collapsed on 21 April.

ERS is the first tower installed on April 24 and is said to become unstable after a cable supporters ejected, causing three other supporting cables are detached and fall with the victim. Incident occurred when the iron bars of the tower supporters have been stolen by the some unscrupulous people.

        Ensure that all employees comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) before, during and after the repairs or installation.

        Install a fence around the substation in the vicinity of populated areas.

        Put the warning sign to avoid the public entering the area. Only the authorized person can enter the area.

        Build a security booth for temporary, when the substation tower was built to prevent theft of substation equipment.

All parties shall cooperate to prevent the invasion of electricity transmission from recurring. Cooperation by all parties would give benefit to all because the electricity will be delivered without any disruption and reduce the loss of property or loss of life.
