Importance of safety
Keeping safety in the workplace is essential to enable a person to continue to seek to meet the needs and expenses for his family.
A worker also must know what to do if the tragedy and an accident while performing their duties and their obligations.
Chief Operating Officer, pantai Ampang Hospital, Dr Tharma Rajenthiran said, everyone who is called the employee must maintain their own personal safety at work.
He said although the government created the Social Security Organisation (Socso) to promote the welfare of workers in an accident at work, employees must not neglect their own safety.
"As an employee, all need to learn proper safety measures should be performed during work.
"Employees need to know what to do in the event of accidents to themselves and their colleagues," he said.
According Tharma again, each employee on the Beach Hospital Ampang especially need to know the true role of Socso as many workers in Malaysia are not aware of the duties of the agencies involved.
He said most of them just keep quiet if an accident occurs at work or when going or returning from work.
"The role and tasks performed by Socso needs to be taken out to facilitate as well as the occurrence of any accident.
"Do not be by not taking out and not care because it would cause hardship and be detrimental to yourself," he said.
