LOS ANGELES ACCIDENT..........

Los Angeles,USA — Two workers were injured when a concrete floor gave way in the Vae’ der building under construction in Los Angeles here this evening. It is understood that other workers managed to escape when the floor of the building gave away at about 8.30pm Police said a 36-year-old indian worker who was working on the first floor of the complex was injured when the floor suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to the Sunway Medical Centre where he is undergoing surgery,Lo Angeles Senior Police Inpector said the worker was wearing his safety gear when he fell five-half- metres to the ground. It is learnt that the construction of the building started in 2009 and is expected to be completed next year Valvi’s Brothers has said a full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident at the Lot One development which it called a “minor construction mishap” “All safety procedures were adhered to as the workers were well equipped with safety gear as required by local safety standards ” it said in a short statement today. The developer also said it would provide adequate after-care to the construction worker who sustained injuries during today’s accident Valvi’s Brothers added that it had informed the Department of Safety and Health DOSH of the incident and would extend its full cooperation to the department.
