THE INVASION OF ELECTRICITY
TRANSMISSION AND ITS IMPACT TO ALL PARTIES
Electricity
substation is important to convey the pulse of electricity in all areas,
whether in city or rural areas. Without these substations, electrical energy
unable extended and this will affect the lives of the people depend on
electricity.
What is the problem now is that a theft of
cables and iron bars of the electrical substation that is common in some rural
areas. Electrical cable theft activities carried out by unscrupulous may
endanger the safety of all parties. If viewed from all aspects, electrical
outages will result in loss and casualties to all parties, these items can be
for example the effect of power failures.
• The road accident happened when the
traffic lights goes off suddenly.
• Electric Railway stopped suddenly
because no electrical power to move and cause passengers trapped inside the
trains. Death can occur when the passengers began to panic and having breathing
problems.
• Operating at some factories stopped
because the machine that uses electricity cannot function and affect the
operation of the factory. The factory will be losses for activities to be
postponed.
• Companies that provide electric service had to
incur extra costs to repair damaged electrical substation.
In
2008 the country was shocked by the incident substation tower that collapsed in
Sabah which resulted in one death and four serious injuries. According to the
report made, in the 10.30am incident, the five victims of the Life Line Unit
(LLU) TNB is working on the ERS to replace the electrical transmission line

ERS is the first tower installed on April 24
and is said to become unstable after a cable supporters ejected, causing three
other supporting cables are detached and fall with the victim. Incident
occurred when the iron bars of the tower supporters have been stolen by the
some unscrupulous people.
•
Ensure that all employees comply with Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP) before, during and after the repairs or
installation.
•
Install a fence around the substation in
the vicinity of populated areas.
•
Put the warning sign to avoid the public
entering the area. Only the authorized person can enter the area.
•
Build a security booth for temporary,
when the substation tower was built to prevent theft of substation equipment.
All
parties shall cooperate to prevent the invasion of electricity transmission
from recurring. Cooperation by all parties would give benefit to all because the
electricity will be delivered without any disruption and reduce the loss of
property or loss of life.
