Many peoples do not aware that sitting for long periods in front of the computer or work for hours passively on a chair will lead to muscle numbness and also cause eye strain. The main concern of prolong sitting is, it hidden threat which will increase the risk of getting health problems including arthritis, obesity, low blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.
Maybe for some people, sitting for hours while working at the office can not be avoided, but sitting after return from working is often trap us. We spend our time an average of 10 hours sitting including at the office, driving in the car and also while watching television. Studies show that on average people sitting for 9.3 hours per day that is longer than the time spent in bed of 7.7 hours.This will consider as unhealthy lifestyle which will aggravate the health status. Does our body is built to sit so long?
According to studies, sitting for long periods can increase the risk of death up to 40%. Sitting more than 6 hours a day can make you 40% "chance" to die in 15 years than those who sitting less than 3 hours a day, even with exercise.
Suggestions or advice that we might work out at least 30 minutes a day may be inadequate. Best practice is to try to get up from sitting as often we can.
