Accident at work related to the machine

There are many accidents that occur in the workplace caused by the negligence of workers at work, especially when operating the machine. As we know the machine has various types and functions of the cut, move, drill and so on. If the machine is not controlled, maintained and closed many accidents can occur which: -

Recommendation:

Therefore, there are several ways to solve this problem by putting a "guard" on each machine that is no barrier to prevent this incident from recurring such as:

1.Barrier Covered

  • It is a permanent barrier or barriers to prevent any member of the body from contact with moving machine components.

2. Interlocking Guards
  • It is the best alternative when the guards would not be available. If the guard is opened, the power supply to the machine is broken
  • Install log out tag out to all the machines  should not be used freely and should not be used if the machine is locked. only those who have the key can turn on the machine

3.Automatic guard
  • It is usually used in the repeated cycle of operationsThe members of a protected operator body when moving machine components.
  • Ifone hand to operate the machine, the machine will not work.
 4.Barrier Design

  •  Shall be designed so that it does not need to be opened during machine repair or maintenance.
  • Make sure that the space between the guard and the machine is minimal to prevent the operator from reaching the body to "danger point" (the enemy/danger).
  • All controls turn on or turn off the machine must be within reach of the operator.
  • Emergency push buttons must be easily accessible and clearly marked. To turn on the machine, do it manually every time.
  • Inspection, review and preventive maintenance should always be done. Have preventive maintenance program that includes inspections of all machine guarding.
Conclusion
Machine operators and employers must protect employees and whether the machine is in good condition or not. According to the factory and machinery act1967, all dangerous parts of machinery must be fenced and built for the safety ofworkers. Penalties under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 for employees who violate the rules is a fine not exceeding RM 1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding three months or both.

Therefore, each employee must be alert and aware of the work that is done to avoid the occurrence of things that are not desired in the workplace. Therefore, employers and machine operators must play an important role in the workplace. Safety must come first and must remember what happened to safety first. Remember loved ones.

-HAVE A NICE DAY =)
