FRANCE, 23 March 2000 -- Many people who believe they have eye strain from working on computers all day long are probably suffering from psychological stress, say Italian researchers. Doctors at the Occupational Medicine Institute at the University of Sassari quizzed 212 bank employees, the British journal Occupational and Environmental Medicine reported. The employees shared the same environment, work duties and health background. None had any medical history of eye problems. Thirty per cent who complained of sore eyes or blurred vision also complained about job stress, such as poor self-esteem, underuse of skills and friction with co-workers.
